1. User Accounts

You need an account for most activities on our platform. Keep your password safe — you're responsible for all activity associated with your account. If you suspect someone else is using your account, let us know immediately.

When you create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information, including a valid email address. You are responsible for your account and everything that happens on it, including any harm or damage caused by someone using your account with or without your permission.

You may not transfer your account to someone else or use someone else's account without their permission. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at support@ipetitions.com.

Our platform is for people who are at least 16 years of age. If you are younger than 16, you may not create an account. See our Privacy Policy for more information about how we handle children's data.

2. User Content Rules

You're responsible for what you post on our platform. Keep your petitions and content in line with applicable laws and respect the rights of others. We may remove content or terminate accounts for repeated or major violations.

Abide by the law and respect the rights of others: You may not post any petition or content that violates applicable laws or regulations. You are solely responsible for your petitions, content, and actions on the platform and their consequences.

Prohibited content: You may not use iPetitions to:

  • Post content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Post spam, malware, or deceptive content
  • Collect user information without consent
  • Interfere with the operation of the platform
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of iPetitions or connected systems

Enforcement: If we determine that your content violates these Terms, is harmful to our users or platform, or is otherwise objectionable, we may remove it or make edits to bring it into compliance. We will generally try to notify you and work with you to resolve the issue, but we are not obligated to do so. We may terminate or suspend your account for material or repeated violations.

3. Petition Hosts

As a petition host, you have extra responsibilities. Respect your signers' privacy, don't misrepresent your petition, and only make minor edits after publishing.

Signer privacy: You agree to respect the privacy of all signers. You may not disclose signer information without their prior consent, except when presenting the petition to its intended recipient on a single occasion. You may not use signer information for marketing or unsolicited email without explicit consent.

Edits and integrity: We provide tools for minor edits and corrections to petitions. If we determine that a petition has been substantially altered to change or misrepresent its original meaning, we reserve the right to remove the petition or suspend the account.

Responsibility: We make every effort to ensure petition hosts respect these Terms and our Privacy Policy, but we cannot assume responsibility for violations by individual users. If you believe a petition host has violated these Terms, please contact us.

4. Intellectual Property

Our content is protected by copyright. You can view it for personal use, but don't reproduce or distribute it without permission. Your petitions remain yours, but you grant us a license to display and distribute them on the platform.

Our content: The contents of this website, including text, software, photographs, graphics, logos, trademarks, and other material ("Material"), are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and download a single copy for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use the Material for any public or commercial purpose without our written permission.

Your content: You retain ownership of the petitions and content you create. By posting content on iPetitions, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, distribute, and promote your content in connection with our Services. This license ends when you delete your content, except where it has been shared with others who have not deleted it.

Copyright infringement: We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe content on iPetitions infringes your copyright, please contact us at report@ipetitions.com with details of the alleged infringement.

5. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. By using iPetitions, you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

In accordance with our Privacy Policy, we may share personally identifiable information if we believe it is legally necessary, whether in response to a specific legal request or at our own discretion when we believe disclosure is warranted.

6. Payments and Donations

We may ask for voluntary contributions to keep iPetitions running. These are entirely optional and never required to use the platform. Contributions go to the Company, not to petition hosts.

At various points on the website, we may invite users to make voluntary payments, contributions, or donations ("Payments"). These Payments are what allow us to offer a free service to users worldwide. It is always clearly stated that Payments are directed to the Company and not to petition hosts or their causes.

All payment processing is handled by trusted third-party services (Stripe, PayPal). We do not store credit card or payment information on our servers. Refund requests should be directed to support@ipetitions.com.

Limitation of liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, iPetitions, its partners, and its suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or lost-profit damages resulting from the use or inability to use our Services, regardless of legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

User-generated content: iPetitions is a service provider, not a content generator. While we actively moderate content on our platform, we cannot be held liable for content created by users.

If you are dissatisfied with the Services, your sole remedy is to discontinue use. See our Privacy Policy for information on how we handle your data.
